Gyotaku is the traditional art form that originated in Japan over a century ago. This historic technique of creating art is accomplished by using carefully-selected rice paper and pressing it on to the skin of a fish. On larger fish Otis Canvas is used to accommodate for the size of he fish. This creates an impression of the fish on the paper, complete with the rich texture of the fish skin or scales. Now decades later the techniques have evolved to become a great option for anglers and fishing enthusiasts to record and commemorate their catch.

By drawing inspiration from the Hawaiian fishing culture, we are now able to provide customized and unique fish paintings through a method offered by no one else in the marine art industry. The finished piece of art is a beautiful and different way of displaying the memorable day on the water.
